Moscow to host Russian-Chinese security consultations, Russian Security Council secretary to meet with Chinese Communist Party Politburo member (Part 2)

MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu will meet with member of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee Politburo Chen Wenqing in Moscow ahead of the 13th meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues, the Russian Security Council's press service said on Thursday.

"On the eve of the 13th meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu will meet with his partner, curator of Chinese security services, member of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee Politburo, and Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee Political and Legal Affairs Commission Chen Wenqing," the press service said.

"Further deepening of cooperation between law enforcement and security agencies of Russia and China is an important element of the implementation of the agreements reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping," the press service said.

Shoigu and Chen will visit exhibitions at the Russia National Center, which are part of the event, it said.

As reported, the 13th international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues will take place at the Russia National Center in Moscow on May 27-29, 2025. More than 125 delegations from over 100 states of the Global South and East, and members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and 14 international organizations have confirmed their attendance.
