MOSCOW. May 29 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said he was hoping that normalization in Serbia would allow further development of bilateral cooperation with Russia.
"Naturally, both we and your friends were concerned about the recent events. I hope the situation has normalized by now, and Serbia can continue to develop cooperation with all neighbors and, of course, to continue the existent cooperation with the Russian Federation," Shoigu said at a meeting with Aleksandar Vulin, senator of Republika Srpska (an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and former Serbian deputy prime minister.
Vulin described the situation in Serbia as complicated.
"The situation in Serbia is really complicated, above all because of the interference of Western states and security services in the daily life of Serbia," he said.
