WASHINGTON. June 16 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he thinks the expulsion of Russia from the G8 was a mistake.
"The G7 used to be the G8. Barack Obama and a person named Trudeau didn't want to have Russia in and I would say that that was a mistake," Trump told reporters on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada.
"I think you wouldn't have a war right now, if you had Russia in, and you wouldn't have war right now, if Trump were president four years ago," Trump said.
"You [G7] spend so much time talking about Russia and it's no longer at the table, so, it makes life more complicated," he said.
