Trump says not yet interested in Putin's offer of help in Iranian settlement

WASHINGTON. June 18 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had spoken with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin by phone the day before.

"I spoke to him yesterday," Trump told reporters on the White House lawn.

Trump said he is not yet interested in the Russian president's proposal to help resolve the conflict between Iran and Israel.

"He actually offered to help mediate. I said, 'Do me a favor. Mediate your own. Let's mediate Russia first.' I said, 'Vladimir, let's mediate Russia first. You can worry about it later'," he added.
