Situation may worsen for Ukraine if Kiev chooses not to reach understanding with Moscow now - Putin

ST. PETERSBURG. June 19 (Interfax) - The situation may worsen for Kiev if Ukraine chooses not to reach an agreement with Russia now, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We agree, let us sit down and reach an understanding. We offered terms of an agreement in Istanbul in 2022 and they were much softer than now. Things have changed. The current terms are as they are. We are ready to make decisions according to these same Istanbul principles," Putin said at a meeting with heads of international news agencies.

"Should they choose not to reach an agreement, the situation may worsen for them. There should be no delay. We should sit down and reach an understanding," he said.
