ST. PETERSBURG. June 19 (Interfax) - It is necessary to find a solution to the Iranian-Israeli conflict, which will ensure Iran's interest in peaceful nuclear energy and Israel's interest in unconditional security, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"I believe it would be right to search for ways of ending the hostilities together and to elaborate methods for reaching an agreement between all the conflicting sides in order to ensure the interests of Iran, on one hand, concerning nuclear activity, including peaceful nuclear activity, naturally, I mean peaceful nuclear energy and peaceful nuclear activity in other areas, and, on the other hand, to ensure the interests of Israel from the point of unconditional security of Israel," Putin said at a meeting with the heads of international news agencies.
"This is a delicate matter, and, of course, one needs to be very careful there. In my opinion, such a solution can be found in general," Putin said.
Speaking of Israeli goals in Iran, he said, "Most importantly - everyone is saying this and I am just repeating what we know and hear from everywhere, all these underground plants, they exist and nothing has happened to them."
