MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - The misbalance in the process of exchanging the bodies of soldiers between Russia and Ukraine is "glaring", but, in any case, the most important thing is the result, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Two rounds [of negotiations in Istanbul] have taken place. A great deal of work has been done. And what counts most is that we have very important humanitarian results on the agreements that were reached in Istanbul," Peskov said in an interview with RBC.
Russia has transferred the bodies of more than 2,000 troops to Ukraine, while Kiev has handed over the bodies of several dozen Russian soldiers, he said.
"You see the proportion, certainly it is a telltale, glaring proportion, but it is a big result nonetheless," Peskov said.
Under the agreement, a large number of young seriously ill and heavily injured soldiers have returned home, he said.
"Isn't it the result? It is a very important result," Peskov said.
