MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Russia and Ukraine accomplished another prisoner swap on Thursday consistent with the agreements made in Istanbul, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"A group of Russian servicemen returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime on June 19 consistent with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements made in Istanbul on June 2. A group of captured servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was returned in exchange," the ministry said.
"The Russian servicemen are staying on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and are being provided with the necessary psychological and medical assistance," it said.
All Russian servicemen will be taken to the Russian Federation later for treatment and rehabilitation at military hospitals, the ministry said.
Russia and Ukraine agreed on prisoner swaps in Istanbul on June 2. Two categories of prisoners, those injured and heavily sick and those younger than 25, are subject to all-for-all exchanges.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on June 9, 10, 12 and 14 that it had exchanged prisoners with Ukraine.
