VORONEZH. July 4 (Interfax) - Two people from a border area of Russia's Kursk region have returned from Ukraine, the region's governor Alexander Khinshtein said on Friday.
"Two more residents of borderland have returned home from Ukraine, Natalia and Alexander, a married couple. In Moscow, they were welcomed by Russian human rights commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova. I sent a transport vehicle to collect the couple, they are on the way to Kursk now, accompanied by regional security officers and health care staff," Khinshtein said on Telegram.
The couple were imprisoned in Ukraine illegally for more than fourth months.
Earlier, a report citing a source in the Russian negotiating team said that two residents of the Kursk region had been returned to Russia as part of the latest Russia-Ukraine prisoner exchange on Friday.
