RIO DE JANEIRO. July 7 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is holding talks with Bolivian President Luis Arce on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
They exchanged brief greetings before the meeting. The meeting continued behind closed doors.
The BRICS summit is taking place in Rio de Janeiro on July 6-7. Lavrov is leading the Russian delegation.
Along with the founding countries, BRICS includes Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Iran since 2024, and Indonesia since January 2025. Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are cooperating with the bloc as partners.
