MOSCOW, September 27 (AVN) -- Federal aviation has completed about 2,000 combat missions against guerillas in Dagestana and Chechnya since August 3, a source in the Air Force Staff told the Military News Agency on Monday.
Federal pilots eliminated more than 2,000 guerillas, 300 strong points and fortifications, 150 bases and training centres, up to 100 vehicles, over 70 air defence systems, mortars and firing points and over 50 ammunition and fuel depots, the source said.
They destroyed more than 30 bridges, six retransmitters and four radar stations. From 50 to 80 targeted guerilla objects were hit, he said.
The radar station near the Shchelkovskaya village, a fuel and oil depot four kilometres north from the Raduzhnoye village, guerilla bases in the ourtskirts of Gikalovski, Goyskoye, Tangi villages, a bridge over the Argun river, several minor oil refineries close to Grozny and Serzhen-Yurt and many other objects were destroyed by direct hit, he added.
