RUSSIA LAUNCHES RESURS-F1M RESEARCH SATELLITE

MOSCOW, September 28 (AVN) -- The Russian Strategic Missile Forces on Tuesday launched the Resurs-F1M satellite intended for studying the earth's natural resources and remote sensing of its surface.

The satellite was placed into orbit by a Soyuz-U booster rocket, which took off from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the southern Russian Arkhangelsk region at 15.00 Moscow time (1100 GMT).

The launch was attnded by a delegation of the Federation Council upper house of parliament, headed by its speaker, Yegor Stroyev.
