MORE ILLEGAL MIGRANTS TRY TO CROSS RUSSIA-UKRAINE BORDER

KIEV, September 29 (AVN) -- The number of illegal migrants detained by border guards, security service and police at the Russia-Ukraine border has increased five times in the past week in comparison with the previous one, Major Alexander Sloma, chief spokesman for the Southeastern Direction of the Ukrainian Border Guard Troops, said on Wednesday.

More and more persons illegally residing in Russia are trying to escape to Ukraine due to the latest anti-terrorist measures of Russian law-enforcement agencies, Sloma told the Military News Agency. In olny two days, September 27 and 28, servicemen of Kharkov, Lugansk and Donetsk border guard detachments detained more than 70 border violators, mostly citizens of Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and China, he added.
