MOSCOW, September 29 (AVN) -- A delegation of Kuwait's law-enforcement bodies has arrived in Moscow to meet officials of the Russian Defence Ministry and discuss prospects of military cooperation between the two countries, the Military News Agency learned on Wednesday.
The delegation, headed by Ali M. al-Moumin, chief-of-staff of the Kuwaiti army, has already met Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev and Chief-Of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin. The parties discussed "development of bilateral cooperation, including exchange of specialists, technoilogies and knowledge in the military sphere," al-Moumin said. The Russian party expressed deep understanding of prombems which the Gulf countries face, he added.
The visit may result in signing of a contract on supplies of Russian arms and military equipment, a source in the Russian Defence Ministry said. Kuwait is interested in buying Russia's S-300 air defence missile systems and boats armed with anti-ship missiles, he added.
