MOSCOW, September 29 (AVN) -- A delegation from South Korea will soon visit Moscow to discuss prospects of bilateral arms trade, a competent source in the Russian Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.
South Korea is particularly interested in buying Russia's Su-35 fighters and air defence systems, he added.
According to him, military cooperation between Russia and South Korea began to improve already in early September when Russian Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev visited Seoul and met confindentially with top officials of the country's Defence Ministry. However the Korean party made haste to say they were not planning to buy Russian arms, he added.
Russia has already supplied South Korea with 450 million U.S. dollars worth of T-80U tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, mobile anti-tank and air defence systems, ammunition, spare parts and helicopters to pay back a part of its foreign debt, the source said.
