SHELKOVSKAYA, October 14 (AVN) -- Federal forces in Chechnya have exposed a gang of guerillas dressed in the Russian uniform, a spokesman for the Western federal headquarters said on Thursday.
One of the gang members was captured and is currenntly being interrogated, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.
Guerillas often attempt at bringing federal forces into discredit, the spokesman said. For this purpose, Chechen warlords sent several diversion groups dressed as Russian soldiers in the federal rear. They were spotted in the Nadterechny district where they opened fire at villages and attacked police checkpoints, he said.
