MOSCOW, November 1 (AVN) -- Ukrainian Tu-160 and Tu-95MS strategic bombers will be sumbitted to Russia in the next two or three days, Russian Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov said on Monday.
Russian military aviation has adopted about 60 Tu-160 and Tu-95MS planes, and 85 to 90 percent of them are in working conditions, Kornukov told the Military News Agency. Their total flying hours averaged 21 last year and 15 in the first half of this year, he said.
Ukraine will soon submit another 11 strategic bombers to Russia as compensation for its gas debt, Kornukov said. Two Tu-95MS and one Tu-160 planes are aready prepared to fly to Russia, he added.
