MIG-29UB MODERNISED INTO MULTIFUNCTIONAL PURSUIT PLANE

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, November 2 (AVN) - Sokol air plane building plant have fully modernised MIG-29UB drill front-line fighter.

Now the plane is called MIG-29UBT. It has surface-mounted fuel tank that is already used for MIG-29SMT fight plane.

MIG-2UBT can fly 2200 kilometres because the amount of its inner fuel 40 percent increased.

Modernised version has a system of in-fligh refuelling; it may also be equipped with some more surface-mounted fuel tank.

New plane has also new radar with phase antenna. Modern navigation system is conjugated with new radar and thus air-air and air-surface ammo can be more widely used.

New MIG is a multifunctional pursuit plane that can successfully air intercept the enemy and attack up to four aims at the same time; it can provide radar mapping and state ground or sea aims, Vasyly Pankov, Sokol air plane building plant general director says.

The Voyenny parad magazine is to publish detailed information about MIG-29UBT in November.
