MOSCOW, November 2 (AVN) - Russian Navy is to purchase from scientific and manufacturing alliance for special materials (St. Petersburg) a consignment of Modul new extra strong body armour for marines that accomplish mission in Chechnya, the Military News Agency learned in Federal Navy ground and coast troops department.
This body armour will allow to diminish losses in city battles.
Modul new extra strong body armour is designed in scientific and manufacturing alliance for special materials and Baltic State technique University.
The piece consists of textile cover with Tauron ballistic textile and changeable steel or ceramics armour panels. It does nod sink in water.
Modul new extra strong body armour cost less than 5 000 roubles (approximately 200 U.S. dollars) per piece.
Marines are to receive their firsts Modul new extra strong body armour by November 15.
