MOSCOW, November 3 (AVN) - An airdrome of the Pacific Ocean Fleet in Kaman (Vietnam) support point is to be reconstructed.
A source in the Russian Navy Staff told the Military News Agency that after setting up new radar, navigation and other similar systems the airdrome will be able to receive even long bombers.
Nowadays the airdrome is considered to be the lest convenient for landing under difficult weather conditions; three Su-27 planes crashed here on 12 December 1995, pilots from the Rossiskiye Vityazi piloting group Boris Grigoriev, Nikolai Grechyanov, Alexander Sirovoi and Nikolai Kordukov died.
Ships of the additional fleet will transport everything necessary for the reconstruction from Vladivostok to Kaman.
