GEORGIA NOT PLANNING TO LET RUSSIA USE ITS ARMS QUOTAS

TBILISI, November 15 (AVN) -- Georgia is not planning to let Russia use its conventional arms quotas envisaged by the new European convential forces treaty, Avtandil Napetvaritdze, official spokesman for the Georgian Foreign Ministry, said on Monday.

The country will use the quotas for its own pursoses, he stressed.

This stance was also supported by Grigol Katamaze, deputy defence minister for international relations. According to him, the treaty which is to be signed at the OSCE summit in Istanbul will force Russia to withdraw its military bases from the republic.
