MOZDOK, November 22 (AVN) - Chechen guerrillas are planning to stage spoiling attacks in the federal rear and the republic's mountainous districts in case the blockade of Grozny is completed, a source in the unified federal headquarters told the Military news Agency, citing intelligence data.
According to him, such attacks are likely to take place in the Shatoi and Vedeno districts where all surviving guerrillas are ordered to retreat. That is why the federal command has decided to enforce its troops stationed in Chechnya's liberated districts, the source said.
Additional forces will also be transferred to southern Chechnya, where separate rebel gangs are getting ready to begin guerrilla actions when an order is given.
