MOSCOW, November 30 (AVN) - The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Moscow district has started an investigation into causes and circumstances of the death of Mikhail Stepanov-Molotov, sound-operator of NTV, one of Russia's leading TV channels.
The tragedy happened at the Chkalovsky airfield late on Monday after an Il-76 plane brought the NTV film-crew together with a special force police SWAT from North Ossetia town of Mozdok. According to the witnesses reports, the TV-crew started down the airfield without waiting for the transport. Stepanov-Molotov was hit with the left gear-strut of the coming in TU-154 plane while he was running across the strip. As a result of severe injuries the sound-operator died on the spot.
The investigation was trusted upon the military prosecutor's office of the Balashikha garrison.
