MOSCOW, December 2 (AVN) -- Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Mordovia after government's meeting on metallurgic complex.
In Saransk (Mordovia's capital) Putin planes to participate in the meeting of the Bolshaya Volga association council, visit heating power station and veterans' hospital
The Bolshaya Volga association chaired by Mordovia's Head Nikolai Merkushkin was formed in 1991 by some Volga republics' initiative.
Kalmikia, Mordovia, Chuvashia, Tatarstan, Marii El republics, Astrakhan, Volglgrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saratov, Ulianovsk, Pensa and Kirov regions participate in the accosiation.
These territories produce one third of Russia's corn and have a lot of defence industry enterprises.
Putin and his cabinet consider these regions' development extremely important for Russia's national defence, a source in the government told the Military News Agency.
