33 000 REFUGEES RETURN TO CHECHNYA

NAZRAN (Ingushetia), December 3 (AVN) - Since Thursday 1172 refugees returned to freed districts of Chechnya through the Kavkaz-1 checkpoint on the Chechen-Ingushi border.

Over 33 000 forced migrants total returned to the republic from the nearby regions, the Military News Agency learned in Russia's Emergency Ministry.

The Ministry's group lead by the Deputy Emergency Minister Valery Vostrotin spotted new territories for the refugees' temporal housing.

Sernovodsk agricultural college prepares to house 2000-2500 men, Assinovskaya village will house 1500 more in police station, two hostels, a cottage and a canteen.

Two tent camps for 4000 people are still being organised in Nadterechny district and Znamenskoye village.

Migration Service specialists state that 24 000 Chechen refugees that still stay in seven temporal camps in Ingushetia also want to return to their republic as soon as possible.
