MOSCOW, December 6 (AVN) - The Il-114 plane crash which occurred in the Domodedovo airport near Moscow on Sunday is likely to have been caused by overload and bad fixation of cargo units, a spokesman for the Federal Air Transport Service said on Monday.
According to specialists which investigate into causes and circumstances of the crash, the plane's load consisted of badly fixed containers with paint which dislodged during the take-off and caused decentration of the aircraft. As a result, Il-114 crashed into barrage surrounding the landing strip. Preliminary inspection of the site and position of cargo remains back up the preliminary version. However no conclusions can be made until information contained in the plane's "black boxes" is deciphered.
Il-114 crashed at about 5.00 Moscow time (0200 GMT) on Sunday. Five crew members died in the crash, the other two were taken to hospital.
