MOSCOW, December 8 (AVN) - Swedish Defence Minister Bjorn von Sydow has postponed his visit to Russia, a competent source in the Russian Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.
The source declined to comment on reasons for the postponement. He did not exclude, however, that it was a response to cancellation of Russian Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev's visit to Sweden. It was originally scheduled for the summer of 1998, but postponed die to complicated political situation in Russia. This year, the visit did not take place due to military conflicts in Yugoslavia and the North Caucasus.
Von Sydow was to arrive in Moscow on Wednesday. There was no information on re-scheduled dates of the visit.
