UKRAINE TO INCREASE ITS AIR FORCES

VINNITSA (UKRAINE), December 15 - (AVN) - For the first time Ukrainian Parliament Committee conducted its session on the questions of national defence and security in the Ukrainian Air-Force Staff in Vinnitsa. It was said at the session that Ukraine plans to spend about $610 million on its defence needs in 2000. The reason for the location of the seating was the address of President Leonid Kuchma to the board of the Defence Ministry earlier in November this year, in which he pointed out that the priority for the military industry would be the development of air forces. The decision came as a result of a thorough analysis of NATO operation in Yugoslavia and Russian federal operation in Chechnya. That is why the Ukrainian MPs decided to start elaborating a new air force law.
