SEVASTOPOL, December 20 (AVN) - Most of Black Sea Fleet sailors and their family members voted for the Fatherland-All Russia bloc in the Sunday parliamentary elections, a spokesman for the fleet headquarters told the Military News Agency.
According to preliminary data, Fatherland-All Russia got about 40 percent of votes. The second is Emergency Ministry Sergei Shoigu's Unity bloc with over 31 percent of votes. It is followed by the ultra-nationalist Zhirivovsky Bloc (about eight percent) and the Russian Communist Party (seven percent).
Other parties and blocs got a total of 12 percent of votes, the spokesman said, adding that the final results of the voting will be announced in the near future.
According to the Russian embassy in Kiev, 36,000 Russian electors are residing in Ukraine. They voted for the 13 candidates running in Election Constituency 194 of Moscow's Leningrad district. The Black Sea Fleet set up 15 polling stations for its sailors stationed in the Crimea.
