MOZDOK, December 21 (AVN) - Federal aviation accomplished 43 missions under bad weather conditions in the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
Federals attacked three guerrilla bases in the mountains, destroyed nine strong points, seven trucks and one air defence launcher, damaged two bridges and made four abatises on the mountain roads.
Ground troops continued operation in the suburbs of Grozny and took a suburban district of Chernorechie without battle not facing guerrillas' resistance.
At present the federals prepare to take Grozny.
The troops under command of Beslan Gantamirov, Chechen militia leader, that have received an official status of Chechen militia will be the first to enter the city.
At present these detachments (15,000 men total) control Urus-Martan and several other inhabited localities without any help from the federals.
Federals fully blocked the entrance to the Argun canyon, Chiri-Yurt locality and Chechen-Georgian road.
Guerrillas who guarded the road are partly killed; the rest are dispersed.
