MOSCOW, December 22 (AVN) - Russian Airborne Commander Colonel-General Georgy Shpak is planning to leave for Chechnya, December 25.
The general is intending to personally accompany 20 tons of humanitarian load. However, this time it will not be sweaters, gloves, woolen socks and hats, since the troopers stationed in Chechnya are completely equipped with winter uniform, a source in the Airborne staff told the Military News Agency.
The commander will bring his subordinates New Year presents - cigarettes, sweets, candies, tea, coffee and other products, which are usually not included into soldiers' rations. The action is supported by 'Komsomolskaya Pravda' newspaper and NTV company.
