RUSSIAN PM TO VISIT KAMCHATKA IN JANUARY

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, December 30 (AVN) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Kamchatka on January 2, 2000, the Military News Agency learned from the city administration.

By now Prime Minister does not plan to visit military detachments and thus Kamchatka commanders have not yet proclamed the 2nd of January working day (in accordance with the law it is a holiday).

Nevertheless several motorised rifle and missile regiments and nuclear submarine cruisers have started preparations for meeting Putin.

Pacific Fleet commander Mikhail Zakharenko and Navy commander Vladimir Kuroyedov will come to Kamchatka beforehand to meet the Prime Minister.
