MURMANSK TAX POLICE HELP REPAY PENSION DEBTS

MURMANSK, December 31 (AVN) - Tax police officers in the northern Russian Murmansk region have collected over RUR50m (USD1.9m) dodged from taxes this year, tax police spokesman said on Friday.

Police have exposed a total of 327 tax violations which resulted in dodging of RUR114m (USD4.2m), the spokesman told the Military News Agency. As much as 125 criminal cases have been started, which is twice the number registered last year, he said.

28 cases were brought against enterprises which evaded payments to the pension fund and the medical insurance fund. They had to repay over RUR23m (USD851,900), and this made it possible to pay pension debts to some 40,000 men.
