MAKHACHKALA, January 6 (AVN) - In the past few days the ill-known rebel warlords Khattab and Shamil Basayev received reinforcements of about about 200 mercenaries from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Ukraine, the Military News Agency learned from the staff of the eastern federal group commanded by Hero of Russia, Lieutenant-General Gennady Troshev.
All mercenaries together with armament supply came to Chechnya through Azerbaijan and Georgia.
At present federals do know the location of Khattab's headquarters. In accordance with the intelligence data it is mobile and cruises between Khatuni, Kirov-Yurt, Makhketi and Elistanzhi inhabited localities.
