UKRAINE TO STIMULATE AIRCRAFT BUILDING

KIEV, January 12 (AVN) -- President Leonid Kuchma issued a decree "on the measures of stimulating aircraft building in Ukraine" Wednesday.

According to the decree, the Cabinet is to allocate extra money in the second draft of 2000 budget for building five AN-70 transport planes and 25 engines for them. The government is also to find the money for finishing certificate tests of the joint Russian-Ukrainian AN-140 plane.

The cabinet was also given 10 days for forming an interagency commission, which would prepare the law on stimulating aircraft building.
