GREECE TO BUY TWO MORE ZUBR HOVER-SHIPS FROM UKRAINE

KIEV, January 31 (AVN) -- Ukraine has started implementation of a contract on supplying Greece with two Zubr landing hover-ships, a source in the Ukrspetsexport state-owned company told the Military News Agency.

According to the source, one of the ships will be taken out of the Ukrainian Navy. It is yet to be modernised and adopted to the Mediterranean climate.

The other Zubr will be finished within the next 10 months at one of Feodossya's shipyards.

The price of the contract is over USD95m. Specialists of the Ukrspetsexport think that the contract was signed only thanks to the co-operation with Russia's Rosvooruzhenie arms expoerter, which had already undertaken sales of two Russian Zubrs to Athens.

The ship has 535t displacement and is capable of carrying three tanks, or eight IFVs, or 10 APCs, or 140 troopers, or 130t of cargo.
