DEFENCE MINISTRY TO START ELABORATING NEW COMBAT CHARTERS

MOSCOW, January 31 (AVN) -- The Defence Ministry is finishing the processing of suggestions on the new combat charters, a source in the General Staff told the Military News Agency.

The working on the drafts will start on February 15, and by the end of the year the new charters will most likely be published. Then they will be "tried" in the units for two more years.

The Chief Combat Training Department, The Armed Forces General Academy, and the Moscow Military Institute will undertake the work on the documents.

This is the first time the Russian combat charters are being amended since 1989.
