MOSCOW, January 31 (AVN) -- As many as 32 planes, 40 helicopters, 40 engines were restored with non-budget money received by the Air Force in 1999, Nikolay Anisimov, head of the Air Force economic and financial department, told the Military News Agency.
The Air Force managed to prolong the service life of over 3,000 units of various equipment, Anisimov added.
According to him, given the cuts in the supplies of the new equipment, as much as 80 percent of the flights are currently made on the planes, which have undergone capital repairs.
At the moment the Air Force command is studying the measures that are to be taken to insure the supplies of modern equipment for the country's Air Force and Air Defence.
