MOSCOW, February 1 (AVN) - The demand for the S-300PMU air defence missile systems will range between 10 and 15 units this year, including exports, a spokesman for the Air Force armament department said on Tuesday.
Producers of S-300PMU can make up to 50 systems a year, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. They recently opted for establishment of a production alliance which would match requirements of the modern market.
The Almaz central design bureau, the Fakel machine-building design bureau and several other leading defence industry enterprises are ready to form part of the new body.
"The Russian Air Force is using dozens of air defence missile systems," Alexander Lemansky, constructor-general of the Almaz bureau, told the Agency. "That is why we are ready to co-operate not only with industry enterprises but also with Defence Ministry repair plants," he said.
