UKRAINIAN OFFICERS TO HAVE THEIR OWN CODE OF HONOUR

KIEV, February 1 (AVN) - The board of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry has approved the Code of Honour of Ukrainian army officers, the Military News Agency learned on Tuesday.

The draft code was discussed publicly and found broad support among officers serving in military units, educational establishments and departments of the Defence Ministry, a ministry spokesman told the Agency. It is based on principles of the Ukrainian Constitution, the military oath, military charters, moral traditions of the Ukrainian army, basic international humanitarian standards and moral and ethic norms of current legislation, he added.

The Code of Honour has been published in all military newspapers and magazines of the country.

According to the source, its drafting was an initiative of Defence Minister Alexander Kuzmuk.
