KALININGRAD, February 2 (AVN) - SS-750 Russian rescue boat is expected to search the place of S-8 Soviet submarine's wreck at the final stage of Russian - Swedish naval exercise in May, Baltic Fleet Commander Admiral Vladimir Yegorov told the Military News Agency.
Swedish free divers found the remains of the Soviet submarine of the World War II times near the island of Oland and while Admiral Yegorov visited Stockholm he was handed the video-tape.
Specialists from the Defence Ministry 1st Central research and design institute together with their colleagues from the Rubin Central design Bureau (St. Petersburg) are almost sure that it is the S-8 submarine that left Kronshtadt in October 1941 to accomplish its mission near Denmark.
