KHANKALA, February 2 (AVN) - Federal troops have completely circled the central part of Grozny after taking the Minutka square under their full control, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Bulgakov who heads the mopping-up operation in the city told the Military News Agency.
The resistance of guerrillas was extremely severe, the general added.
Federals had to fight not only for each building, but for each floor and even each flat.
