BEST RUSSIAN PROGRAMMERS TO BE AWARDED

MOSCOW, February 2 (AVN) - Twenty winners of the all-Russia competition of programmers organised by the Science and Technologies Ministry will receive prizes in Moscow's Central Journalist House Wednesday evening.

A lot of winners have created unique programmes for the Defence Ministry, Science and Technologies Deputy Minister Yury Yudintsev told the Military News Agency.

The laboratory of automated management systems (director Mikhail Pertsovsky) is awarded for producing unique management systems, which are used by Russian Federal Nuclear Centre, Khrunichev Space Centre, the Elektrosvyaz firm and other enterprises.

The Intellect-Service firm has produced a special bookkeeping software for military detachments.

The Dialog-Nauka firm is awarded for producing DSAV effective anti-virus software that won over DIR-2 viruses in 1991 and Win95.CIN (Chernobyl) in 1999.

It is expected that Science and Technologies Minister Mikhail Kirpichmikov will award the programmers.
