FIRST TENTS SENT TO NEW REFUGEE CAMP IN CHECHNYA

MOSCOW, February 7 (AVN) -- Seven wagonfuls of tents and linen intended for the newly established refugee camp in Chechnya's Tolstoi-Yurt locality were sent by the Siberia and Privolzhsky offices of the Emergency Ministry, a source in the ministry told the Military News Agency.

On Tuesday the Privolzhsky office intends to ship another 30 tents by rail, the source said.

The camp in Tolstoi-Yurt, which can house some 5,000 forced migrants, is already supplied with the necessary amount of foodstuffs and medicines. In the near future it will adopt refugees who are currently staying in Chechnya's adjacent Ingushetia, as well as residents of Grozny.

On the whole the six refugee camps deployed in Chechnya will house over 15,000 people.
