MOSCOW, February 8 (AVN) - The Rokot booster-rocket with a small spacecraft is expected to be launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in April.
The rocket is designed on the basis of the Kosmos-3M complex.
The Russian-German joint venture Eurockot Launch Services GmbH organised by the Khrunichev space centre and Daimeler Chrysler Aerospace from Bremen initiate the launch.
The West does not have boosters of the Rokot type and thus Eurockot Launch may receive up to 1,000 orders for launching spacecraft for communication, navigation and Earth probing by 2006.
