MOSCOW, February 9 (AVN) - The situation with aircraft in Russia's Air Force in 2000 will be determined by the possibility of repairing TU-95MC, SU-27, MIG031, MIG-29, SU-25 planes, the Military News Agency learned from the Air Force armament department.
At present 50 percent of long-range planes, about 100 transports and over 350 frontline planes need to be repaired. The situation with engines is the worst. In accordance with specialists by the end of 2000 federal aviation will have only 10 to 30 percent of working engines if the necessary repairs are not done.
