NAVY COMMANDER, ST.PETERSBURG GOVERNOR TO MEET FRIDAY

ST.PETERSBURG, February 10 (AVN) - Russian Navy Commander Vladimir Kuroyedov will meet St. Petersburg Governor Vladimir Yakovlev on Friday afternoon, a spokesman for the city administration told the Military News Agency.

The two men will discuss a series of pressing problems, including measures the St. Petersburg government is taking to support local shipyards and solve social problems of the Leningrad naval base, the spokesman said.

The meeting is also likely to be attended by Yakovlev's two deputies, Admiral Vladimir Grishanov and Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Shcherbakov, who are very well familiar with the problems of the Russian Navy.
