MINSK, February 11 (AVN) - Belarus is prepared to allow Russia use its border airdromes, Russian Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov who arrived in Minsk on a working visit, stated on Friday.
The majority of Russian pilots are familiar with the airdromes as they served there, he added.
Belarussian runways and support service buildings are in good conditions; if it is necessary the radio-technical equipment may be changed, Kornikov said.
Russian and Belarussian Air Force will receive planes of the fifth generation starting from 2003 which will strengthen the defence level of the Union's western borders.
