TUPOLEV JSC SETS UP DEPT FOR CO-ORDINATION OF TU-204 SUPPLIES

ULYANOVSK, February 14 (AVN) - Tupolev JSC has decided to set up its production and technical department in the city of Ulyanovsk (Volga Region), a spokesman for the company administration said on Monday.

The department will be headed by Yuri Murygin, aide to the director-general of Aviastar JS, the producer of TU-204 planes, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.

The main function of the new department is to co-ordinate co-operated supplies of TU-204 family aircraft, the spokesman went on. These planes are gaining a broader use in both Russian and international airlines. For example, a TU-204 owned by Trans-European Airlines made 62 flights and spent 374 hours in the air last month. It is the best result in the history of this plane, as it had regularly flown some 200 hours a month before.
