PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, February 15 (AVN) - A joint training of bodies and detachments of the city administration and the chief emergency department took place here on Tuesday, a spokesman for the department told the Military News Agency.
The officials and rescuers were training relief and emergency operations in case a powerful earthquake hits the city, the spokesman said.
The training showed the inefficiency of the department officials to take necessary urgent measures in this case. Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Mayor Alexander Dudnikov charged them to immediately correct the defects in the preparation of the department bodies.
This decision is quite warrantable due to an earthquake which rocked the Kuril Islands on Tuesday morning.
